- Arrival in Pathankot – Transfer to Srinagar (by road)

Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Pathankot to Srinagar. As you transition from the plains to the breathtaking valleys of Kashmir, you’ll witness dramatic shifts in landscape. Upon arrival, check-in at a houseboat or hotel near Dal Lake. Enjoy a peaceful shikara ride in the evening and explore the floating markets.

- Srinagar – Sonmarg – Base Camp at Shitkadi

After breakfast, drive to Sonmarg – the gateway to the Great Lakes Trek. Reach Shitkadi, the base camp, where you’ll be briefed by local trek leaders. Acclimatize to the altitude, enjoy the cool air and relax in camp amid snow-capped peaks and pine forests.

- Trek from Shitkadi to Nichnai via Shekdur (11 km)

The trek kicks off with a moderate trail that passes through green meadows and silver birch forests. Cross the charming meadows of Shekdur and ascend towards Nichnai. Camp under the starlit sky near a gurgling stream.

- Nichnai to Vishansar Lake (12 km)

Today’s trek includes a steep climb to Nichnai Pass, followed by a beautiful descent into wide valleys. The pristine Vishansar Lake awaits you — set in an alpine meadow and reflecting the surrounding glaciers. It’s a surreal place to camp overnight.

- Vishansar – Krishansar – Gadsar (14 km)

Cross the twin lakes of Vishansar and Krishansar, both postcard-perfect and surrounded by wildflowers. A gradual ascent leads to Gadsar Pass (highest point of the trek) offering dramatic views. Descend to Gadsar Lake and rest near its crystal waters.

- Gadsar to Satsar (10 km)

Today’s trail is filled with alpine plateaus and quiet brooks. You’ll reach Satsar, a cluster of seven interconnected lakes set in a high-altitude meadow. It’s a tranquil location, untouched and rich in birdlife.

- Satsar to Gangbal & Nundkol Lakes (9 km)

A challenging but rewarding day as you trek across rocky patches and ridgelines. The view of twin lakes Gangbal and Nundkol from Zaj Pass is breathtaking. Camp at the foot of Harmukh Peak beside these sacred lakes.

- Descend to Naranag – Drive back to Srinagar

The final leg of the trek is a descent through pine forests to the village of Naranag. After lunch, drive back to Srinagar. Rest and celebrate your successful trek with a traditional Kashmiri dinner.

- Departure from Srinagar to Pathankot (or airport drop)

Your adventure concludes with a return journey to Pathankot by road or a drop-off at Srinagar Airport for your onward flight.
